We have heard the scripture so many times "Be still and know that I am God", many times we go directly to the "know that I am God" part looking for what He is going to do, while we watch the clock wondering, when He is going to do it. We get so enthralled in our own world that we run completely past the "Be still" part which is OUR instruction.
We must be still because... life moves so fast that we can get caught up in the flow of life (cares of this world) and miss the leading of God.
We must be still because... we are finite beings created by an infinite God and he speaks a language that is sometimes difficult for us to understand. The word says that His ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. We need to slow down to hear His instructions and to listen for our role in it, Selah (pause and calmly think on that)!
We must be still because... our enemy "as a R0ARING lion" makes so much noise. The roaring is designed to get us alarmed, confused and off track, so that we will veer away from the body (or the assignment or the instruction) and place ourselves in a place to be devoured-- alone, discouraged, disheartened and depressed.
We must be still because... it is a "still small voice" that instructs us "this is the way, walk ye in it".
Has the enemy been trying to get you anxious because the pile of work on your desk keeps growing? Has the date you thought you would be finished with that crucial project come and gone-- months ago? Does the accuser of the brethren keep reminding you that "your not getting any younger?"
I have come to learn, that much of what we are rushing around to... do; be, or accomplish amounts to little on its own, but... when the anointing of God is upon us, we can do what we never could do on our own. We will become what He wants us to become, in His time and in His season. With Elohim (God our Creator) guiding us, we can accomplish more than we could have ever dreamed possible in a moment of time, and reach more people with a modicum of favor, than we could with all the hype man can muster. Because He will always do exceeding, abundantly above all that we could ask or think!
I pray that you will "Be Still" and know that HE alone is God; He will bring it to pass. Release the pressure to go... be... and do knowing that Phil 1:6 is true-- Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
He will never leave you, or forsake you.
